  • Stock Screener - Past Results

When using a stock screener to find technical indicator achievements, sometimes it’s not enough to simply identify the event. Investors might want to observe the security over time, beyond the point of when the technical indicator event occurred. As an example, if you use a stock screener to identify stocks where the Parabolic SAR switched below the price, you might want to observe the stock for a few more days before you’re confident the previous trend has reversed.
  • Stock Screener - UI Customization

In a previous blog post, we described how SynVero’s stock screener utilizes smaller pieces of criteria called criterions to give it flexibility.  These criterions are independent pieces of logic that interrelate and facilitate SynVero’s ability to easily author complex stock screening criteria.  Although we pride ourselves on the customization of our stock screener, we didn’t want to stop there.
  • Stock Screening for the Golden Cross

A stock’s moving average considers price values over a specific period of time.  By averaging the prices and plotting as a single line on a stock chart, volatility is given context within the scope of time being evaluated.  As the averaging of prices provides more smooth lines, trends within price can become more apparent.
  • Well Adjusted Data - Splits

A normal stock split occurs when a company decides to divide its existing shares into more available shares.  Typically, this is done to affect the liquidity of the shares and make them more appealing or easier to purchase using less money.
  • How to find the MACD Crossover

One of the more popular technical indicators is the Moving Average Convergence Divergence or simply MACD.  Developed by Gerald Appel, it typically appears beneath the primary stock chart on a separate panel and is comprised of three elements: (1) the MACD line which shows the difference between two different Exponential Moving Averages, (2) the signal line which is an Exponential Moving Average of the MACD line and (3) a histogram which is the difference between the MACD line and the signal line.
